The Friendship Association has a storage facility in St. Augustine.  Humanitarian Aid is delivered directly to our projects and is used and managed directly by our target groups - we do not channel material aid through the Cuban government. Report on August 2006 humanitarian delegation to Cuba
Since 2004 the Friendship Association has partnered with Working Bikes Cooperative in Chicago and together have sent hundreds of bicycles, wheelchairs and spare parts to Baracoa for distribution throughout Guantanamo Province. Bicycles are the main mode of transportation in the area.

Items needed for our Baracoa projects:

Medicines and Pharmaceuticals: (Please, no expired drugs or opened packages)
  • Vitamins: multi, B complex, C, D, E, prenatal and children's, mineral supplements
  • Analgesics for adults and children such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Tylenol
  • Antacids
  • Drugs for vaginal and  urinary tract infections

Dentistry Equipment:

  • Children's tooth brushes
  • Dental materials (hand instruments, wire for braces, anesthetics, toothbrushes, etc.),
  • Suture material
  • Miscellaneous equipment

Ophthalmology

  • Reading glasses (all sizes, new or in excellent condition)
  • Artificial tears
  • Topical antibiotics
  • Magnifying glasses
  • Walking canes and canes for the blind
  • Braille equipment

Association for the Handicapped

  • Wheel chairs and cushions
  • Bed-side commodes
  • Bed sore ointments (zinc oxide or similar)
  • Laxatives, diarrhea meds
  • Crutches and walkers
  • Catheters and urine bags
  • Elastic bandages

For Schools:

  • World Maps (must reflect post Soviet Union)
  • Pencils, pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners
  • Musical instruments and guitar strings
  • Soccer balls, basketballs, baseballs
  • Kindergarten materials

Association of Baracoan Artists

  • Acrylic paints 
  • Brushes (all sizes)
  • Art books
